Good afternoon and the snow has not arrived just yet.
Now as we are into the second week of Spring, yes, surprise surprise, but this is Ireland, maybe a little reminder about a couple of issues like our health and sleep and ongoing education. You may have seen my attachment regarding sleep previously, but the issue of exercise and good posture while working has hit home with significant impact on me since I retired.
I realise how I did not exercise appropriately nor diet correctly with the result that my body is now compromised. I have ongoing pain and mobility issues. I heard all the warnings years ago, but did not listen. Regular Joint injections and medication, with surgery now inevitable.
In relation to ongoing education. It is essential that you attend conferences online at present. Follow up issues that you are having in your daily practice and help your team to solve any issues, mistakes or conflicts before they become serious and irreconsilable.
As Covid-19 continues, our profession’s incredible position in universal infection control and working to rigid systems is still premminent. As we all get more accostumed to the new way of working,, communicating and connecting, remember we still have to use all our skills, ingenuity, integrity and wisdom togrther with our dedicated teams, to successfuly care for our patients. .
Don’t forget John O’Keeffe and oasisdiscussions.ca, The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI and Dental Protection for invaluable courses and discussions.
